This Savoy cabbage salad ginger vinaigrette and dates recipe was inspired by 2 everyday ingredients in Chinese culinary culture. They are ginger and dates. If you love any Asian recipes, I bet you will love this healthy recipe.

If you live close by a Chinese store, finding fresh ginger is super easy. Otherwise, you may not find it in your supermarket. If that's the case, get the one in the jar. I use Spice World brand ground ginger.
My other tip for you is that have the vinaigrette salad dressing on the sour side. I mean just the touch more. Just don't go to the extreme. It takes time for the dried dates to release the sweetness. By the time the salad is served, the flavor will be just perfect.
